Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email us at info@mnmasonic.org.

Do you have to have a Masonic Affiliation (be a member of a Masonic organization) to apply for a scholarship?

No. The question is asked on the application as a point of interest to our organization, but an affiliation is not required.

Can Home School or Private School students apply?

Yes, if you meet all of the requirements listed for a given scholarship category.

How can I submit a Letter of Recommendation (or Transcript) if my school does not allow students to have the letter (or transcript)?

The online application will provide an email address for the person submitting your Letter of Recommendation or Transcript. You will not be able to complete and submit your application until all required attachments are received.

Do I have to request an “official” Transcript or ACT score?

You are not required to pay for and submit an official copy of either your transcript or ACT score. If you have access to your transcript, you may upload that document to your application. If your school is submitting for you, it is your responsibility to provide the email provided within the application to the person who will be submitting your document(s). The copy you receive of your ACT Composite score may be uploaded to your application.

What does the Scholarship Committee look for in a potential scholarship recipient?

The Scholarships Committee is looking for the well-rounded individual who will best represent our organization. An individual who is a good student, demonstrates good character, is involved in their school and community and who has articulated clear educational goals. Students should make an effort in the application process to concisely share appropriate information so that the Reviewer feels they know that student as a person.

Who can I contact if I have additional questions?
