There are many ways you can help Minnesota Masonic Charities serve others. The gift of your time can make a huge impact on those who may be struggling with a sick child, battling cancer, or simply need to know someone cares. Here are some opportunities for you to donate your time to the important causes we support:
Minnesota Masonic Heritage Center
The beautiful Heritage Center needs volunteers to help with everything from ushering guests during events at the Ives Auditorium to archiving our historic artifacts and conducting tours of the Colonel James B. Ladd Museum. Interested individuals may contact Keir Johnson, director of the Heritage Center, to find out more. (Phone 952-948-6505)
University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital
Volunteers for the Masonic Children’s Hospital have many options from which to choose. A dedicated hospital volunteer must commit to 100 hours of service (click here if interested); however, individuals interested in supporting the young patients and their families at the hospital may do so through various activities, including crafting everything from fleece blankets to handmade cards. For more information, click here or phone Volunteer Services, University of Minnesota Medical Center, at 612-273-6565.
Minnesota Masonic Home
Volunteer opportunities abound at Minnesota Masonic Home. Choose from a wide variety of activities and services, such as escorting patients to appointments, gatherings and events, greeting transitional care patients, or providing simple manicures. Visit MnMasonicHome.org for more information, or contact Beverly Potz, volunteer coordinator, at 952-948-7977.
Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota
The Masonic Cancer Center Auxiliary visits the oncology surgery unites of the MCC and provides patients with donated puzzles, crossword books, snacks and lap blankets crafted by volunteers. Additionally, the new Masonic Cancer Clinic at the University of Minnesota Health Clinics and Surgery Center needs a great deal of volunteer support. A Masonic affiliation is not necessary to volunteer with the Auxiliary. If interested, contact Jan Lingo at 651-633-6939.
